Google Classroom
Use Google Classroom as your organizer for all online learning. You can post resources, announcements, and assignments on Google Classroom. Google Classroom also makes it easy to review and grade student work.
What is Google Classroom?
Google Classroom is a free web service, developed by Google for schools, that aims to simplify creating, distributing, and grading assignments in a paperless way. The primary purpose of Google Classroom is to streamline the process of sharing files between teachers and students.
How does my child join a Google Classroom?
Your child will receive a class code from their teacher (it will consist of 6 or 7 numbers or letters, such as g5gdp1). They should go to the Google Classroom website or mobile app and click on the plus ("Create or Join a Class") icon at the top right of the screen.
Can I join the Google Classroom as a parent?
Google Classroom isn't really set up for parents to join. There are only two roles in Classroom- teacher and student. Typically parents won't be able to join Classrooms because they don't have an account on the school domain. Instead, we recommend that teachers invite parents to sign up for guardian summaries.
How does my child submit work on Google Classroom?
Firstly, students can only submit work on "Assignments" posts and not "Materials" posts.

Check for late or missing assignments
Your teacher sets the late work policies for your class. However, Classroom doesn’t prevent you from turning in late work.
When your teacher assigns work, it’s marked Assigned. If you don't turn in your work on time, it's marked Missing or Done late as soon as the due date or time arrives. For example, if work is due at 9:00 AM, turn it in by 8:59 AM. If you turn it in at 9:00 AM, it's late.
Go to classroom.google.com.
On a class card, click Your work .
At the right, you see the work status of each item:
Assigned—Work assigned by your teacher. Check the due date.
Turned in—Work you turned in on time.
Graded—For graded work that your teacher returned, you see your grade.
Returned—For ungraded work that your teacher returned, you see a check .
Missing—Work you didn't turn in.
Turned in: Done late—Work you turned in late.
(Optional) For more details, click an item to expand it and click View details.
For more ways to check work status and track your work, go to See your work for a class.
